November & December are full of Musical Happenings!
“The Beatles are Coming! The Beatles are Coming!”
On a historic night over 47 years ago, throngs of screaming, hysterical fans and 73 million people around the world heard Ed Sullivan refer to the “youngsters from Liverpool,” the excitement they brought to New York City during their visit, and conclude his simple television introduction with “Ladies and Gentlemen, The Beatles! Let’s bring them on!”
What followed the Beatles’ first performance on U.S. soil back on February 9, 1964 was a rock music revolution and Beatlemania was born! Radio stations played Beatles music almost non-stop, fans sported Beatle hair wigs and bumper stickers warned of the impending British rock invasion. Whether you remember seeing the original performance and are looking to relive the glory, or whether you have always wondered what all the fuss was about, here’s your opportunity to experience it first-hand as The Cavern Beat makes their first Middleton appearance at the Middleton High School Performing Arts Center on Thursday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m.
The Cavern Beat is often compared to the jukebox for sounding so much like the real thing! Performing the music of The Beatles true to their records, every performance is as outstanding as the next with vintage instruments, amplifiers and authentic suits in the famous Fab Four style for full effect! The band replicates and brings back to life the excitement of the original recordings and live performances from the Cavern Club era onwards. Critics the world over have agreed that the group has the sound, energy and excitement of The Beatles, second to none. The band guarantees a performance that you and your guests will remember for years to come!
The Middleton High School vocal & dance performance group, Broadway Bound, along with Kromrey and Glacier Creek Middle School broadway performers will open the show with a 60’s music medley. Students from these groups interested in participating should register for the clinic with their middle school or high school choir teacher by October 21. Registration forms are available through choir teachers or at www.choralboosters.org. Cost for students to participate in the show is $15 and will include a t-shirt and a light dinner.
The Cavern Beat will be performing on Thursday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 (Adults) and $8 (Students/Seniors) and are available through any MHS choir or drama student, a portion of which will go toward their upcoming New York City Broadway tour. General admission tickets can also be purchased through the Middleton Community Bank, State Bank of Cross Plains (both Middleton and Cross Plains locations) or online at www.mhschoralboosters.org.
The event is sponsored by the MHS Choral Boosters.
